Brightness control by means of AOM / AOD
The light colour of a laser beam is defined by its wavelength. By an overlay and mixing of several colours (beam sources), the intensity of the individual laser beam can be individually modulated with acousto-optic modulators (AOMs) for additive colour mixing RGB. Each wavelength is diffracted differently, so acousto-optic modulators are only suitable for monochromatic light. currently available acousto-optic modulators achieve an efficiency of more than 95%, which allows high dynamics to control brightness and colour saturation. All three basic colours must be individually modulated in order to adjust colour saturation and intensity. Through the development of acousto-optic filters (AOTFs), also an individual colour (wavelength) can be cached up by a selectively deflection of polychromatic beam.
